What’s going on with Ultimate Comics Spider-Man?

Amongst the weekly product updates Marvel sent out to retailers last Friday was this odd notice:

ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #6 has been cancelled and will be resolicited in November 2011’s Marvel Previews.

…What’s odd about the update is that it’s an outright cancellation. Books aren’t canceled because of artist changes, or page count changes – those are just listed as part of product updates, like the one that the cancellation news was part of….Similarly, if a book is running late, that’s not reason for cancellation unless it’s running really late (and sometimes, not even then). So what’s so special about Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #6?

At least they’re promising to resolicit, but that is very disconcerting given how popular Miles Morales has been, and how high Sara Pichelli’s profile has risen because of this book.  While I’m sure she should have no trouble getting bigger and bigger assignments should something go off the rails with USM, it would be a shame to see her stellar work be cut off at the knees.
